ROAD CLOSURES - The B4040 between Charlton and Malmesbury is closed for a few weeks. Part of Happy Land - from Rixon Gate in Ashton Keynes to the B4040 crossroads, will be closed from 21 August for approx three weeks. The B4696 just north of Braydon Crossroads (towards Leigh) will be closed from 11 September until the end of the year! More details here.

SUPERFAST INTERNET - Two new companies - Voneus and Gigaclear - are considering setting up superfast broadband in Leigh. Click for more details.

POLICE VISIT - The Leigh’s community police officer will be at Hillside from 3.00pm-5.00pm on September 15th to speak to the public about any concerns.

Road closed: Urgent closure of B4040 in Charlton. 14 August for one day.

Upcoming closure: Advanced closure of B4040 between Malmesbury and Charlton. 15 August for three weeks.

Upcoming closure: Happy Land will be closed from August 21st for approximately three weeks from the junction at Chelworth Crossroads (B4040) and Rixon Gate in Ashton Keynes

Upcoming closure: B4696 at Braydon Crossroads,heading towards Leigh. Will be closed from 11 September until January for bridge replacement works.

Rise & Stride for Historic Churches Trust

September 9th

The Chancel is one of many churches which relies on fundraising to stay open to the public.

On September 9th the Wiltshire Historic Churches Trust is holding a Ride & Stride event. Hugh Thomas from the Parish Council is taking part and is encouraging others to join him.

The charity says: Participants may be cyclists, walkers, horse-riders or drivers of mobility scooters.All denominations are welcome. Visit as many churches as you like, planning your own route. Seek sponsorship from friends, relations and colleagues.
